- Sina grew up in a small city of Iran that was the birth and death place of Baba Taher, a famous Sufi poet. She was only about eighteen when she met the Sufi master in her small town of Hamden. She began studying Sufism and works of Rumi, the great Persian mystic poet, with him for about three years. He changed Sina's life and showed her a new direction of living. When she was about twenty-five Sina moved to the United States but still kept contact with the Sufi master through letters. They wrote each other for years until he passed away and began a new life. His guidance stayed with Sina after his death. Sina recently began putting together a CD of Sufi poems including the works of Rumi, Hafiz, Attar, and Kayam so she could share the beauty of Sufism with others.
