Amran Ellahi, Kamran Ellahi, Tahir Khan, Usman Malik and Sheraz Yaqub, formed as the AAR nasheed group in the summer of 1998. Hailing from the West Midlands, England AAR are classically trained singers / percussionists who perform an impressive repertoire of contemporary / traditional nasheeds in Arabic, Urdu and English.

Their debut album ‘Blessed Mustafa’ received great critical acclaim and was soon followed by ‘Divine Lights’, the group’s excellent rendition of the Asma ul-Husna, or Beautiful Names of God. ‘The Chosen One’ went on to further develop their distinctive sound – a combination of rousing, powerful vocals married to exciting live percussion.

These albums together with their electric live performances helped cement their reputation as a unique Nasheed group and brought forth many plaudits and invitations. AAR have performed in front of thousands, Muslim and non-Muslim alike, at some of the most prestigious venues and events including the Glastonbury Music Festival, ISNA Convention, Celebrate Eid
Tour and The Muslim Millennium Festival.

AAR have also worked and performed with renowned nasheed artists such as Yusuf Islam featuring on two of his compilation albums, Raihan from Malaysia, Rabbani also from Malaysia, The Sabri Brothers Qawwal from Pakistan, Sami Yusuf, Zain Bhikha, 786 and many more. Yet it is worthy of note that AAR make time for groups and causes dear to them; hence they are renowned for their performances in aid of charities and the community plus their school visits and workshops.

2005 has been an exciting year for AAR with the release of their ground breaking new album entitled "The Sultan Of Madinah". The album launch was held in the United States Of America at the Islamic Society Of Northern America Conference (ISNA) with an audience of over 30,000 in attendance finishing in Canada where AAR's lively and energetic performance's were warmly received by all audiences. Q-News has voted The Sultan Of Madinah as "One of the best nasheed album’s of 2005". The UK launch of the album saw AAR performing at the highly successful Celebrate Eid tour performing at six packed out venue’s where all “in the know” picked up a copy of their latest offering to the Nasheed world.

The single release track 'Madinah Tun Nabi' has been a smash hit since it’s release amongst young and old worldwide. From political issues raised in ‘Intercession’ to the soulful ‘Messenger’ The Sultan of Madinah is a must have in any nasheed collection. 2006 is sure to be an even more successful year for the group with plans to release a follow up hit album ...
