Wasalam sis yep that's the one! You know what I haven't tried, but I hear Gr. Shaykh Nazim enjoys? Chutney! I would like a traditional recipe, it sounds good! ^_^ as it is, I love Filipino Chicken Adobo, and esp. my teacher's Indonesian Curry and Rendang...yum! I do plan to buy that book! Tell me please Fatima, what are your favorites from the book?
Salam,
~Johnny
Salaam Alaykum wr wb to all. Salaam br Johnny Boy! i read in your earlier comment of feb:07-2011-you were looking for The Naqshbandi Recipe Book. It is called "Heavenly Foods"-By Hajjah Nazihe Kabbani. It is available from ISN.net On the Sufilive page-Haqqani Fellowship, or Amazon.com. The Recipies are simply Wonderful-Heavenly!!! Alhamdulillah! i have the book, and everytime i make a dish from this Heavenly book, my family has really enjoyed it!!!
May Allah(swt) Bless all, Endlessly! Ameen!!!
Salam! I just saw this group and thought I'd contribute.
Perhaps you'd all be interested in this quick recipe: I make it for every holiday and it's always eaten up. If you've ever had lefse, it's basically that, but baked and with flour tortillas.
Simply take flour tortillas and cut them with a pizza wheel, like you would pie slices. Butter one side of each slice, and lay them on an ungreased cookie pan. Then take a cinnamon-sugar mix and sprinkle it over the pan so it coats all buttered pieces.
Bake on top rack, at 350F, in oven: they'll bubble and the pieces' corners will start to turn up as they bake. I take them out when they're just golden, but you can make them crispier if you want. When done, let cool so the sugar caramelizes, then just eat. They go great with coffee and ice cream!
Have a great day; happy baking!
