Draw no line between the heavens and the earth... Let nothing divide us..
For YOU are all.

All night, a man called “Allah”
Until his lips were bleeding.
Then the Devil said, “Hey! Mr Gullible!
How comes you’ve been calling all night
And never once heard Allah say, “Here, I am”?
You call out so earnestly and, in reply, what?
I’ll tell you what. Nothing!”

The man suddenly felt empty and abandoned.
Depressed, he threw himself on the ground
And fell into a deep sleep.
In a dream, he met Abraham, who asked,
“Why are you regretting praising Allah?”

The man said, “ I called and called
But Allah never replied, “Here I am.”
Abraham explained, “Allah has said,
“Your calling my name is My reply.
Your longing for Me is My message to you.
All your attempts to reach Me
Are in reality My attempts to reach you.
Your fear and love are a noose to catch Me.
In the silence surrounding every call of “Allah”
Waits a thousand replies of “Here I am.”

I don't know why not hearing a woman recite a nasheed should "sadden" anyone. Nasheed is not for entertainment but for the glorification of Allah. It is not a "song" to "sing". So why should it be an issue that women are not permittied to recite in a public forum for anyone to hear? I think it is not a good idea for women to be "singing and showing themselves in public" and in fact I believe this is wrong and taught against in Islam. This may seem like a modern thing to do but in fact , once you start bending and breaking the word of God then where will it stop?? The word of God is the word of God....either obey it or leave it. InshaAllah I don't mean to offend anyone , nor do I hold myself in authority over anyone ..these are just my thoughts and feelings on this issue and may Allah forgive me if I have said something wrong. Allah bless us all and keep us on the straight path.

It saddens me that I can't find any women nasheed artists.So I am putting out a request for sisters who have the gift of good voices to come forward and break through the out-dated sexist, cultural "prohibition" on women singing. In every major religious tradition in the world, except Islam,women raise their voices to call to and glorify God. Doesn't that seem odd, to say the least, to you?

What Was Said to the Rose What Was Said to the Rose

What was said to the rose that made it open
was said to me here in my chest.

What was told the Cypress that made it strong
and straight, what was

whispered the jasmine so it is what it is, whatever made
sugarcane sweet, whatever

was said to the inhabitants of the town of Chigil in
Turkestan that makes them

so handsome, whatever lets the pomegranate flower blush
like a human face, that is

being said to me now. I blush. Whatever put eloquence in
language, that's happening here.

The great warehouse doors open; I fill with gratitude,
chewing a piece of sugarcane,

in love with the one to whom every that belongs!

The Intellectual
The intellectual is always showing off;
the lover is always getting lost.

The intellectual runs away, afraid of drowning;
the whole business of love is to drown in the sea.

Intellectuals plan their repose;
overs are ashamed to rest.

The lover is always alone, even surrounded with people;
like water and oil, he remains apart.

The man who goes to the trouble of giving advice to a lover gets nothing.
He's mocked by passion.

Love is like musk.
It attracts attention.

Love is a tree, and lovers are its shade.

When the ten thousand things are viewed in their oneness, we return to the Origin and remain where we have always been.--- Sen T'sen.

The Beloved is all in all; the lover merely veils Him;
The Beloved is all that lives, the lover a dead thing.-- Mawlana Jalal-uddin Rumi.

Birds Chirp...
For some it is chatter,
But the wise listen
To it as Music, not clatter.

The seasons change,
The leaves golden fall without any heft,
All say O' Autum is come,
But for me, the Wise have left.

The winter is gone and the snow melts
The flowers bloom and the waters cascade
The people dance spring is come
And the wise are wiser, the slumber is at end.

The summer is hot and dust abound,
The road is long and without wend,
All take a siesta on the mound,
And the traveler lone, moves for the bend at the end.
